The launch of the Hungarian-language Business Informatics course in Oradea was announced by Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, Rector of Obuda University and Dr. József Pálfi, Rector of Partium Christian University, following the Senate meeting of the two institutions held simultaneously. Both of them described the cooperation as a milestone in the history of higher education in the Carpathian Basin. The training, which is being carried out with the help of teachers from the Keleti Károly Faculty of Business and Management and the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics at Obuda University, provides a niche area of further education for young Hungarians from the region and Transylvania. The course will start next September.
Obuda University has always considered it important to strengthen cross-border higher education in the Carpathian Basin – said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, recalling that they have participated and are participating in numerous joint research and educational projects not only with universities, colleges and training centres in Partium and Transylvania, but also in Vojvodina, Upper Hungary and Transcarpathia.
As an example, he mentioned the cooperation between the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Protection Engineering and the Odorheiu Secuiesc University Centre, as well as the unique Carpathian Basin Online Education Centre initiative, which is a unified and common national unifying mission of the Carpathian Basin online education space.
The curriculum of business informatics at the Partium Christian University has been set up in full harmony with the curriculum of the accredited business informatics bachelor’s degree at the Obuda University, said Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács, who also pointed out that the new curriculum introduced in September will provide students with more practice-oriented and up-to-date knowledge.
