Supporting Friends: Obuda University’s International Mentor Training

Obuda University took a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for its international students.

The International Mentor Training which was held between the 24th and 25th of August at Kandó Kálmán Dormitory, served as a vital platform to bring together the university’s mentor team, equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.

A key highlight of the training was the emphasis on the fundamentals of being a proficient mentor. Through interactive workshops and discussions, mentors gained insights into active listening, conflict resolution, and effective guidance techniques.

Beyond individual mentorship skills, the training also focused on collaborative planning. Mentors collaboratively designed a semester calendar replete with engaging events tailored to international students. This meticulous planning ensures that students will have access to enriching extracurricular activities, further enhancing their university experience.
