Indonesia, a country with over 270 million people, offers a richly diverse cultural backdrop shaped by influences from Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam. This multicultural environment provides an ideal setting for those looking to broaden their horizons through studies abroad. During the Indonesian visit of the Hungarian university delegation, organized by Tempus, Obuda University’s representative, Györgyi de Nemesker (International Student Advisor), had the opportunity to meet prospective students and leading educational institutions, laying the foundation for future fruitful collaborations.
As the top-ranked Hungarian engineering university in the THE 2025 rankings, Obuda University opens new doors for partnerships with leading institutions worldwide. We are dedicated to making the most of and further strengthening this growing role in global engineering education.
The program, organized by Tempus, started on October 29th at Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, Indonesia’s second-highest ranked university, where discussions were held on potential collaborations. This was followed by a visit on the morning of November 4th to Universitas Indonesia in Jakarta, the country’s top university (QS 2025 ranking: 206), where we deepened our connections and discussed joint initiatives. In the afternoon, at the Study in Hungary Partner’s event, we engaged with additional institutions, including ITS Surabaya University, where we explored joint research opportunities within their Science Techno Park, as well as Prahyangan Catholic University, signaling promising future collaborations.
At the European Higher Education Fair—held on October 30th in Yogyakarta and on November 2nd and 3rd in Jakarta—our booth attracted over 100 visitors daily, all eager to learn about our English-taught programs in IT, Business, and Engineering at the BSc, MSc, and PhD levels. As part of our packed professional schedule, we also visited leading private high schools on November 1st, including Sekolah Cikal Amri and Kinderfield Highfield School HF Bekasi Campus, where we introduced Obuda University as a premier choice for students considering studying abroad.
These events reflect Obuda University’s commitment to becoming a top destination for Indonesian students seeking a European education. Our presence and new connections advance our mission to establish valuable academic partnerships, offering ambitious Indonesian students the opportunity to pursue successful international careers.
